BREAKING NEWS: Dr. Sirajul Haq Talukder, Deputy Chief of Planning Commission and Deputy Project Director of Support to ICT Task Force Programme, Ministry of Planning passed away on mid Wednesday night (Approx. 12:30 AM) 25 August 2010 (Innanillah-e-wainna elaihe raziwun). Mr. Talukder left behind his wife, two daughters, many relatives and a host of well wishers to mourn his death. Everybody pray to Allah for his soul.

Project Activities
Project Name Interactive Website for Ministry of Labor and Employment
Objectives
Under the SICT Program, the following tasks will be undertaken:
-          An interactive website will be developed for the Ministry, which will contain the following:
o        Relevant information about the responsibilities and activities of the Ministry and its subsidiaries
o        Database of key personnel
o        Annual reports, strategic plans, portfolio budget statements, important speeches by the Honorable Minister
o        Information and policy documents related to international labor laws and regulations
o        Links to other relevant websites such as ILO, different labor-related conferences and research paper repositories
-          Necessary hardware resources will be provided to the Ministry
-          LAN will be established at the Ministry
Citizen Benefits
The benefits that citizens will get after successful completion of this project are listed below:
-          Employers will become more aware of their obligations to maintain labor laws and regulations
-          Employees will become more aware of their rights, safe working environments etc.
-          Employees will get to know about the different training programs being conducted at BMET
Good Governance
The ways in which governance will improve after successful completion of this project are listed below:
-          International organizations will easily know about the steps and activities taken up by GOB
-          This will increase the country’s image
-          Government officials will have better and more efficient access to various policy documents, conference proceedings and research
