BREAKING NEWS: Dr. Sirajul Haq Talukder, Deputy Chief of Planning Commission and Deputy Project Director of Support to ICT Task Force Programme, Ministry of Planning passed away on mid Wednesday night (Approx. 12:30 AM) 25 August 2010 (Innanillah-e-wainna elaihe raziwun). Mr. Talukder left behind his wife, two daughters, many relatives and a host of well wishers to mourn his death. Everybody pray to Allah for his soul.

Project Activities
Project Name Process Automation at Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute
Objectives
Under the SICT Program, the following tasks will be undertaken:
-          Interactive website including database of BLRI’s research papers, technological innovations and findings in an easily searchable format
-          Personnel Management Information System
-          Automation of BLRI’s library system and making it available in LAN
-          Required hardware and software resources will be provided
-          LAN will be established connecting computers in several buildings across the BLRI campus
-          High-speed broadband Internet connectivity
Citizen Benefits
The benefits that citizens will get after successful completion of this project are listed below:
-          Citizens will be able to find out recommendations about care of livestock, prevention of diseases etc.
-          Researchers and students can get research papers, required data easily without physically going to BLRI
Good Governance
The ways in which governance will improve after successful completion of this project are listed below:
-          BLRI scientists will be more empowered to interact with foreign researchers
-          There will be more effective dissemination of research findings and recommendations
